A lack of the ability to solo, by creating a game in the Lan portion of WC3 (just set the solo/multi mode coding to check for cheat usability through a boolean).

Leveling in general is difficult, because it forces people to group, and most groups just want to instance grind. Perhaps make leveling more of a tutorial experience, that allows soloing, but scales with players to still make it interesting? Having fun with friends should be the goal of the game, remember that.

1)Game is not soloable, making it less popular than it should be. It would be fine if the bosses can be soloed but takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to defeat by any well-planned character that is of the same level as the quest that requires defeating the boss. But right now, with 1.08, you're stuck in Orc Camp and the Twins if you're all alone.

2)Vexen, this has become a map for elites who demand things to be harder and harder. Therefore less and less entry for newbies. Therefore, you have less and less players because elites quit playing sooner or later, but it is harder to recruit new fanatics.

3)Because of #1 or #2, it really sucks to wait for 20 minutes after creating the game and no one joining, or newbies playing for less than 10 minutes and then quitting. Thus, it is very hard to get a party at all, beating the purpose of having designed the map for 4-8 players.

4)Please return the following properties from 1.06:
a)It used to be that we would be able to go past level 40. Note that in 1.06, I was able to level a CK to 55+ by soloing the quests, since we get 0xp for monsters. But it was still impossible to solo.
b)Make quests to always give a minimum xp, thus allowing high-level chars to still solo.

5)Make this game soloable, so that if all players quit in a BNET game, you can still play on your own. The creator of Guilds of Hyppos was able to check whether the game was started in BNET or not. Maybe you can ask him how he did it.

It has been made clear several times that teamwork will be required to complete the map in terms of being able to defeat every boss. Making this map soloable would entail a severe difficulty reduction or an unnecessary buff to every hero. The result would be a crapfest in which grinding would allow a player to solo the entire map. There's absolutely no challenge in that. Hell forbid that actual strategy and coordination be required because the only difference between the "elites" and nubshits is common sense. It's not as if the "elites", whoever you think they are, are pro gamers who can lockdown a fleet of battlecruisers within half of a second. Sure, your first time might be a bit shaky but if you are willing to listen then there should be no problem the next time.

I completely agree with this. The game needs stuff for the best players. It needs challenges and it needs to challenge everyone who plays it.

Actually, I've soloed up to 17 on a Pally. That was quite challenging. Really, what would be nice is if people could solo for level-ups (Epic items edit[NOT] will drop). That way it would allow more players to play in the constant stream of Twin/Kyr/Murt runs that seem to dominate the game. Leveling is currently a hurdle, a block for new players who want to group with others who are more experienced. It's pretty lucky that there is a hosting bot out there, or new players might not ever get to create, play, and save characters.

Well i guess this aint the easier map out there, and that all good !
there is really a few maps where there is 3-4 difficulty level to begin with.
Then why would you like to solo a game ?
If you can solo it. then with a team of 8 game would be to easy.
yes with 8 ppl monster have more hp. but not more damage and armor.
just try and solo other map like Eclipse
its impossible to kill a boss alone
unless ur 3-4 time stronger then the boss itself.

Have you guys tried hosting a TKoK game? Do you know how hard it is to get a group? Below is what happens 80% of the time:

1)"TKoK ORPG JOIN NOW!!!", "Kingdom Kaliron ORPG JOIN NOW!!!" Wait for 20 minutes, 1 or 2 people join, download, then cancel. If they don't cancel, they play the game for 5 minutes, then quit. And you cannot play alone anymore coz you're stuck. Can't even beat twins. Cant gain XP anywhere.
2)"TKoK Level 10+ or 20+" Wait 20 minutes, nobody joins.
3)I create the game "GoH ORPG JOIN NOW!!!" Within 10 minutes, at least 3 people joined, and either 1 or 2 of them would play for more than FIVE HOURS, not 5 MINUTES!

Go figure. How do you propose to Vexen to solve this problem?

TKoK is a good ORPG, but it should be possible to solo grind. What is the difference between group grinding and solo grinding? There should be none! The players spent a lot of time playing your map. They should be rewarded accordingly. With GoH, which is FUN orpg, you cannot beat the big bosses either, unless you're in a party or are higher levels; but, it rewards solo grinding with XP, even if it takes two months to reach level 70 with one character.

Well, where do you host? In terms of custom games, Kalimdor, Northrend, and Lordaeron are pretty much dead and infested with DOTA the last time I checked. Though in terms of TKoK, there isn't much life left in Azeroth anyways.

In any case, GoH's bosses are nothing compared to TKoK's in terms of difficulty. Last time I played GoH (like half a year ago?), I could pretty much solo every boss with an Elemental Mage except that one guy with the Archimonde skin, don't remember his name. It's pretty boring being able to kill nearly everything by yourself.

TKoK isn't much of a grindfest in the first place since with a decent team you could probably get to level 20+ in a matter of 2-3 hours. With someone rushing you, level 38 shouldn't be hard getting to either.

I understand that most players are used to grindfests and patrolling while killing things in three hits, but the fact is that they shouldn't expect anything like that with TKoK. The only thing to blame is the Battle.net community.
