Hi there, im just new at playing TKOK, and ive been wondering if there is such a "Hybrid" Barb stat build.
From what im seeing and reading of the forums, i presume Barbs only have one build which is a str-con build.
Im thinking of building a "Hybrid" str-con-agi/crit barb to utilize all his skills. If there is such a build, would some one enlighten me? I would really appreciate it. Thanks...

You should just go pure STR for Barb.

With that, he already gets enough HP and way more AP than if you would split it with CON. I don't see why you would consider getting agility though; the AS bonus is insignificant compared to the Power you would be losing.

And also considering that all his spells are affected solely by Power/AP it would be a waste to put into anything else but STR.

a complicated stat build equals fun hero does not

a pure str build only makes the "where to put my points" part of the game simple...and thats a part that many find frustrating...

being able to use the skills he gains is what will make the hero non boring...

Well i'm not those guys who have problems to USE the points xD
Or, oh no!! not the perfect build, now need to go buy respec tome !!!
Then skills change in next version again respec tome for "the perfect build" :D
I use the "useless" perception skill too.

i think the pure str build barb cant utilize all his skills, a barb is a DPS hero, not much of a tank. one of his skills says so, the "stance" skill, i wanted to utilize ALL his skills to the max, not just spam cleave and deep wounds. also what i mean by putting agi is to take advantage of his +crit chance by increasing his AS and the perception stat thingy...and just my two cents, theres no such thing as a "PERFECT" build, but there is a good build, where the player playing his hero is having fun and knows the pro's and cons of his hero...

i just wanted to be a unique barb, not the conventional way.

just my two cents....

btw this is how i distribute my stats 3pow-1con-1speed/1perception (i inter-change putting points on speed and perception every level)

Warrior is a tank (CON only). Barbarian is damage dealer like a rogue.

Barbarian goes for STR.

That is the universal true and right opinion inside my mind.

That's nice but the amount of AS quickness gives and the amount of critical percentage perception adds is oh, so craptastic.

You should experiment with the respec tome and see if the tiny bit of critical percentage and hp is worth the loss in Deep Wounds, Cleave, Execute, Warcry and whatever else.

I understand the idea of trying to complicate your stat builds but the truth is that most TKoK heroes are completely one-dimensional when it comes to distributing stats and optimizing a hero's role. Honestly, the only hero in which the addition of multiple stats is suggested is the CK.

There is a point, however, that speccing agility is more effective than speccing strength if you're talking about just physical dps - strength has a linear dps gain and agility has a percentage based gain (criticals/attackspeed), so at some point agility or perception ought to be more effective than just pure strength, and after that eventually strength ought to be better than agility due to diminishing returns of percentage based dps increases.

It wouldn't be very difficult to figure out when these level occurs if we had all the numbers

However, this doesn't include spells, so don't worry about it and go with the pure strength spec
